Our SR's workforce development initiative extends well beyond just writing a donation check to a charitable cause. It's about strengthening the diversity of our communities and creating opportunities for invididuals to participate in the workforce. It's about focusing on the long-term view and developing solutions that are sustainable. Whether it's helping an unemployed single mother return to the workforce, or providing a job to an immigrant when no one else will, our reward comes from knowing that we make a real difference — today and in the future.

Workforce development is a desperately needed strategy that can help individuals achieve the skills that fit the needs of companies. We guide unemployed, job seekers or graduating students in resume writing and interview skills along with giving up-to-date information about the world of work.

There are people who want to work - many with diverse backgrounds - but face greater challenges in finding gainful employment. There are employers who want to hire while increasing diversity in their workplace, but can't find people with the skill sets they need. That's why we use our position to determine current and future skills gaps, identify people from various backgrounds who need help entering the workforce, and apply our expertise to create solutions that benefit both job seekers and employers. That's the heart of our workforce development initiatives.

We identify people who face barriers to employment, including individuals with little knowledge about how to write resumes or attend interviews, no connections to get a job, or people with disabilities and more - and then prepare them for in-demand jobs in high-growth industries. Our customized programs provide skills assessments, job training, and placement services, and partnering with employers, government and community-based organizations.

We feel privileged to help - and proud of the result: Candidates receive training in the skillsets that employers need most. Employers then have access to trained, motivated workers who can step in immediately and contribute to their growth and productivity.
